Better Out Than In

Coming in 2025: Better Out Than In

The third in our trilogy of experimental queer folk tales, Better Out Than In is almost here!  It tells the story of a femme ingenue afflicted with severe flatulence. She is invited to join a musical compound by her friend Jo, who loves her despite her malodorous condition. One day, after she has settled into compound  life, against her will, a calamitous fart erupts from her backside, destroying the compound and its’ marvelous musical sound machine. The lovers are banished. They embark on a hero's journey and through a series of trials, the ingenue’s flatulence proves to be a super-power that eventually saves the village and the planet.

Sweet Rose hast a secret, one that’s ever more sore to keep. Gassy pressure hast been growing inside her for some timeth.

A massive fart explodeth from her backside! The others are knocked about!

The Instrument is blown to pieces! Everything is ruined!

Sweet Rose is banished! “Get out” they shout! “Go away” they cry!

Better Out Than In

Better Out Than In
We are in pre-production on a third tale, Better Out Than In, which is based on an Asian folk tale known as the farting princess or the farting bride. In 2016 we created five felt banners, related to the story, for Push Comes to Shove, an exhibition about women and power at the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art in Arizona. Each banner depicts a plot point organized around the main character's cosmically/comically powerful farts.
We also made a zine which you can download here: Better Out Than In
